Golfo Paradiso is a shipping company that has always operated in the passenger transport sector since the late 1970s, ensuring connections between Genoa and the Riviera and those between Camogli and its small hamlets of Punta Chiappa and San Fruttuoso.
In early 2010, studies began on a quality service that could satisfy the request for naturalistic experiences within the Cetacean Sanctuary.
Thanks to the involvement of experts in the activity and absorption of the BluWest Company (leader in the field of observation at sea), in April 2011 Whalewatchgenova and WhalewatchImperia were born, quality brands used by the mother company Golfo Paradiso to distinguish themselves in the whale watch in the Pelagos Sanctuary.
Thus began a real Cetacean sighting service at the regional level: in the Levant using Genoa-Nervi-Recco-Camogli as ports of departure and in the West Andora-Laigueglia-Imperia-SanRemo-Bordighera.
Collaborations begin with the Research Bodies in the area, also strong in the high numbers of presences in the Sanctuary: on average 120 exits in the Santurio between the Ponente and Levante canyons.
Year after year the service improves and is implemented with collaborators, scientific figures and projects; the proposal to go whale watching also increases: the activity is moved during the sunset and sunrise hours making everything even more exciting, unique and particular.
In 2019 the fleet increases in number from 7 to 8 boats, three of which are used for the Cetacean Sighting activity.
